Wow, how do you all do it?Updating all the time...yikes..it takes soo much!! Anyhow..it seems that my posts create shall we say..a bit of controversy... so I thought I would write something that some of you would find a practical solution to some of the issues that are fiery. As many of you know, I have worked with and loved the youth of Israel, and in the past few years, we have had several Arab youth that have also come to some Souled Out events in Israel. This is alot for them as they are the only ones with many other young Jewish youth, but it is important for both the young Jewish believers and the Arab believers. There are organizations that work on bringing them together for events and they have been successful. There is a young man named Wisam. I love Wisam. He is a blessing..and has a heart of gold. He is an Arab from the North of Israel. He has a heart and a dream to be a leader to help bridgeJews and Arabs together. And you know..I believe he is someone who just might do this! Anyway, there is a wonderful school in Cyprus. It is very international, and the people there are good people.I know it well and we have visited there on several occassions. They have a heart and love for Israel, and they have invited Wisam to attend their Bible school there this next semester. This would be LIFE CHANGING for Wisam, and frankly would help him get the tools he needs to accomplish the dreams he has ...to help bring the nation together. Anyway..obviously for a poor Arab Believer in the north of Israel, this is all but an impossible dream. So how about for the holidays this year..you consider giving a gift to help Wisam go to this school ( it is only 6 months..and really a great place for him!) if you should decide to donate ( and frankly ANYTHING you give would be AWESOME) you can either give through: www.gatewaysbeyond.org or through www.souledout.net with a notation that this money is for WISAM HABIBY. The following is a letter from Wisam written to you guys...and hopefully we can all help and make a difference. blessings mrsb from wisam: Dear all of my friends , I am writing to you about my amazing life not because Of who I am but because of his mercy and grace that he choose me to be his son … My name is Wisam. My family’s name is Habiby. I guess it’s the coolest last name ever cause it means my love in Arabic. I am 18 years fresh graduated from high school, I am an Arab and I live in the north of Israel. My roots are Palestinian. I have two brothers. My dad used to work in a bank for the last 28 years but he might be out of his job soon but praise God because he is a believer. My mom is a strong believer, she was so good at school but she didn’t have the money to go to the university. My family is so blessed because of the one that Jesus choose to send to light up our ways. He sent my uncle who is a blessed pastor and in the beginning my mom accepted Jesus 17 years ago when I was 1 year old so that I raised up in believer family. When I turned 12 and half I started to see my self as teenager so I went to the world and try some stuffs but was so lucky that after few months I came to God and gave him my life, and accepted him to be my savior. Then there were up and downs until three and half years ago when I went to a conference for Jews and Arabs believers, 4000 thousands were there I was so excited about going. It was so good to see the both nations worshiping God. That is when I went and gave my life to God again. I met my first believer Jew friend there, so that’s how I started to build up relationship with Jews believers. I went to many conferences with Jews believer and got to love them and see that we can live with each other as one nation god’s nation. Then I went to Souled Out, that was one of the best for me because that is where Jesus revealed to me that He is calling me to be a evangelist and to be a bridge that will bring Jews and Arabs together. I am so proud to be part of this country and also to be part of my lovely Arab nation I live in the middle of the conflict. It’s so hard, I got to see the Lebanon war, the Palestine war bombing and killing from the both side. I got to see how many of the Jews hates my nation but always was encouraged by those Jews believer who become my best friends ever and I got to share stuff with them more than any other people and also people from my sides who hates them also. But I always prayed that Jesus will do his will and I am sure that we going to be one big nation. Already there are many Arabs and Jews who meet and hangs out with each other. I am a good student at school. I got the highest marks ever and it was because I surrendered everything to Him. He has alwaysbeen there for me, He has protected me and my family from many times of death, He has always provided my needs. After finishing high school, I asked God that in the years before I go to university that He would give me a period that will be only devoted to Him and learning more about Him. This summer during the Lebanon war even though it was so hard to leave my family when there were so close to what was happening, God opened the door for me to go and visit Gateways community in Cyprus. There, I got to discuss many important things about my nation and the jews nation. I felt that I will be back there but not sure when, then on the last day there, they prayed for me and again God spoke to me about being light to the nations, and a bridge that will bring Jews and Arabs together. In the end they asked me to pray to come next year to the school (January 2007) where I will be the first arab who will ever join this school . This is an impossible financially for my family, but I know that with God all Things are possible. Now all I hope is that I WILL get everything I need to go there and really join this kind of school where I am sure I will get to know God more which is the important things for me and I will be the first Arab to go there. It will also be step of faith that I where God is leading me to bring Arabs and Jews together and I know that my English isn’tthat best which I will hope to improve in Cyprus . I can tell many stories many thing about what God has done in my life where I will fill up hundreds of pages .. But I just wanted to tell you about me. Much love and thank to all the people who will help me starting with prayers ending with supporting me God bless you all Wisam habiby Wisam w Avi Shishkoff
